Sandra Sterle
Sandra Sterle, Zadar, 1965, is a visual artist and film author. In addition to her own exhibiting, performing and screening activities, she also curated number of screening programs and visual art shows. In 1989, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and continued her education at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf in 1995/96. From 1991 - 2003 she lived and worked in Amsterdam and New York.Her works have been included in important retrospective exhibitions of Croatian experimental film and video art, such as "Frame by Frame", "Personal Cinema Program", "Insert" and the Dutch retrospective "A Short History of Dutch Video. She is a professor at the Department of Film and Media Art at the Academy of Arts, University of Split where she has mentored and curated numerous student works, and was a co-organizer of the extended performance festival in Split with her students called DOPUST, as well as one of the organizers of the conference Videovortex in Split and Zagreb.
