Hrvoje Franjić (1980, Zagreb) graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, Department of Cinematography. His career as a cinematographer began in 1999 and in 2002 the short fiction film Luna (dir. Tanja Golić) earns him the Best Cinematography Award and the Kodak Award for best cinematographer at the 12th Croatian Film Days. He continues his activity in the sphere of documentary film (Land of Knowledge, dir. Saša Ban, 2011) and documentary serials (Direct and Changing the World for HRT, 2007-2012), as well as commissioned films (Animafest 2010, dir. Saša Ban; Rijeka 2020 - European Capital of Culture, dir. Dalibor Matanić, 2019) and short fiction films (Interior, Apartment, Night, dir. Saša Ban, 2009; By Chance, dir. Tanja Golić, 2013; Baby Tooth, dir. Saša Ban, 2014). Since 2004 he has been collaborating with visual artist David Maljković as a cinematographer and photographer. He worked with the BADco. performance company and filmed the documentary serial Slumbering Concrete (seasons I and II, 2016 and 2019), produced by Hulahop for HRT. He splits his time between Zagreb and Rijeka.
