Today we will find out who are the winners of the 18th LFF's awards

Today we will find out who are the best authors of this year’s, adult aged, Liburnia Film Festival. The announcement of winners will be at 10:15 pm on the little Summer Stage. In tonight’s programme we are watching two movies – Hungary 2018(8:15 pm) and The Diary of Diana B.(10:45 pm).

As every previous day, the day of LFF starts with Drink with Authors in Caffe Bar Eugenian, where you can talk with the authors from the movies in the competition that we watched last night. The talk about the movie continues with the case studyabout the movie The Diary of Diana B.at 6 pm in Villa Antonio. 

Dana Budisavljević will host a lecture about the movie that marked the year of 2019. by winning 17 awards with an emphasis on the research process that preceded the making of the movie, therefore, forming the hybrid genre feature documentary movie, and the cinema distribution. The entrance to the case studyis free. The Diary of Diana B., the movie about the war heroine who saved thousands of Serbian children from the camps, will close the 18thLiburnia Film Festival – it will be shown in the last programme slot on the little Summer Stage. 

Before the announcement we will be watching Hungary 2018by the author Eszter Hajdú, who followed the president elections in Hungary. The director followed both right – wing and left – wing candidates, Viktor Orbán and Ferenc Gyurcsányj.

The awards of the 18thLiburnia Film Festival 

With the additional precautions due to epidemiological situation, today will, on the little Summer Stage in Opatija, step up the best authors of the 18thLiburnia Film Festival. Along with the Best Film, the five membered jury will award the Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor, Best Sound Design and there will be an award for the Best Regional Film that, on LFF, relates to the movies from authors born in Istria County, Lika – Senj County and Primorsko Goranska County or from the production companies from those areas. The audience decides, with their votes, about the best film by the choice of the audience (Audience Award). 

This year’s jury consists of the director Andrej Korovljev, the movie critic and independent curator Dina Pokrajac, the cameraman and photographer Hrvoje Franjić, the producer Miljenka Čogelja and artistic director of UnderhillFesta, Vuk Perović. 

The Best Film and Audience Award will be rewarded with the money prize and Restart with the technical service for making the DCP too. All the awarded will get an original statue by the artist Saša Jantolek. In the awarding process of documentarists are included our partners, The Institute of the Documentary Film – IDF and Balkan Documentary Center.
