22.08.2016 13:37

With the world premiere of film Heritage by Sanja Šamanović, 14th festival of Croatian Documentary Film Liburnia Film festival will be opened today on the Summer Stage Opatija. 32 films will be part of the program, 22 of which will be competing for seven festival awards that will be awarded on the last festival day, on Friday, 26 August, at 10 PM. Apart from a number of fresh Croatian titles, LFF will give you the chance to see five world premieres and two films that will be screened for the first time in Croatia.

After Heritage, the audience will get the chance to see Croatian premiere of Free by Tomislav Žajo, a feature documentary that deals with the process of deinstitutionalization of persons with intellectual difficulties and their „return“ to the society after a number of years spent in institutions. Second program slot will begin at 10:30 PM with A Short Family Film by Croatian director Igor Bezinović – this is his second film on the topic of probation produced by HRT. Lana Kosovac, author well known to the LFF audience (she won the audience award for Love park at the 11th edition of the festival) will present her debut feature film Confusions. This film directly and without censorship follows dramatic preparations and New York premiere of the play of the same name directed by Branko Brezovac. This is also the first film by Eurokaz, a former famous theatre festival. First evening of the festival will be concluded with the free concert by a Zagreb band Žen at Old School Pub.

Five day festival ticket can be bought for 30, and one day ticket for 15 kunas. Entrance to all accompanying events is free.
