This year again, in cooperation with Filmaktiv, all who want to try to create a documentary have the chance to do so. Join us and try it out, it won't cost you a thing! Who knows, maybe at next year's LFF we will watch your film.

Basic work method during the workshop is informal socializing and learning through loads of practical work. The workshop offers gaining of basic knowledge and skills necessary for making of a short feature documentary and report, from idea to realization. The workshop is aimed at interested individuals without prior experience in working with cameras and montage.

Attendants will get to know special characteristics of documentary genre, different approaches to the subject matter and treating topics through practical examples. Theme and selection of adequate forms for realization of a documentary will be discussed, after which a mini screenplay and shooting plan will be made, followed by practical camera work and sound shooting. All video and audio material will be shot as fieldwork, material will be transferred to a computer and a short feature or a report will be jointly edited.

Workshop will be held by members of Filmaktiv association from Rijeka. Planned duration of the workshop will from 23 till 27 August, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. The workshop will be held in Villa Antonio (Nazorova 2, Opatija).

Workshop participation is free, and the number of attendants is limited. Participation condition is the ability to attend the workshop during all days of its duration, and e-mail application should include a short letter of motivation.
