Synopsis:

We encounter the controversial Croatian film director Lordan Zafranović in voluntary exile in Prague. The film portrays his rise from a talented outsider to a celebrated Yugoslav director of the acclaimed war film «Occupation in 26 Pictures». His life story, an unconventional depiction of his rise and downfall, unveils the compromises he made in order to survive as an artist during the communist era, as well as all the missed opportunities and miscalculations that led to his inability to adapt in later years. Is the charismatic Zafranović a national traitor or a victim of a series of historical circumstances in which all he wanted to do was, in his own words, to be himself and make films?

He was born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1967, where he graduated in Dramaturgy at the Academy of Dramatic Art. His first dramatic works appear in the early nineties.
